Lassen National Forest has issued a Revised Draft Environmental Impact Statement for an Over-The-Snow Vehicle Use Designation plan. They are the first of five National Forests to do so as a result of a lawsuit by Snowlands Network, Winter Wildlands Alliance, and the Center for Biological Diversity.

The plans will designate where snowmobiling will be allowed, prohibited, or restricted for the next twenty years or more. Now is the time to let the Forest Service know your priorities in setting aside areas of our public lands dedicated to nonmotorized recreation.

See our Lassen winter travel management page for details on their plan and how to submit comments. See our Winter Travel Managment page for information on the other national forests also determining the look of winter recreation for the coming years.
