What is the Alert List?

In simple terms, it is an e-mail list that about once or twice a month will bring you information on an issue that needs your attention in the form of a letter, postcard, e-mail, or telephone call. E-mail alerts are the fastest way for us to reach a lot of people. It is also very economical in terms of direct costs and labor.

Regulations aimed at streamlining the National Environmental Policy Act requires short comment periods that require Snowlands Network to react faster than standard mail allows. Snowlands Network maintains their e-mail alert list for these reasons. Through the Snowlands Network Alert List we hope to be timely in getting the word out in emergencies. This will put us on par with anti-environment organizations that are using e-mail to maintain contact with their members.

You can now become an active advocate for Snowlands Network by spending just a few minutes each month at your computer. It's free, it's painless and will bring great satisfaction to you knowing that you have helped make a difference.

The Snowlands Network Alert List is very specific in that it is dedicated to alerting people about issues that need action in the form of letters, faxes or e-mails sent to the Forest Service or other agencies. This List is not open to cross talk about ski conditions, trips, equipment and other topics. You will not be inundated with lots of e-mail.

Upon subscribing to the Snowlands Network Alert List we estimate that you will receive one or two e-mails per month on backcountry ski related issues. Please complete the electronic form at the top of this page to subscribe to the Alert List. We urge everyone who has e-mail access to subscribe immediately. It's fast, we promise not to abuse your right to privacy, and you will be taking a major step forward in helping the backcountry human-powered recreation community.
